Currently living and working in Humboldt County California I have been part of "Furthest West" art movement for over ten years. Originally trained by Psychedelic masters, performance artists and neo-vaudevillians, I received formal fine art training from Humboldt State University where my professors passed on a lineage of West Coast Black and White Fine Art photography that includes such masters as; Ansel Adams, Brett Weston, Thomas Knight, Imogen Cunningham, Thomas Cooper and even Alfred Steiglitz. Inspired by the works of futurist and anti-fascist artists such as Tina Modotti and Georgia O'Keefe, the content of much of my work involves my own daily activities and close companions.
My training in multimedia began over thirty years ago, raised by a systems analyst my studies and personal artistic goals have involved the integration of art and digital technology to create a unique environement for learning, communication, collaboration and free expression.
My current co-collaborators live and work internationally, staying in contact through the internet our projects are often long term. The primary focus of physical events these days is the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Currently I am preparing a painting series for show, as well as other publications, events and digital projects (detailed on my rtgarden.com site where my blogs are located). As I assemble these materials they will be made available here.
I have been learning video 3-D image creation and animation inpreparation for working and teaching in these areas. My primary emphasis is Open Source tools.
